Day 4: Riverwalk and GAME DAY
Day 4 in Georgia was a VERY exciting day!!!! It was GAME DAY and by GAME DAY I mean BYU vs UTAH Football “GAME DAY”! From the day we planned our trip to see the Johnson’s Adam and Chris had been talking about how fun it was going to be to watch this Epic Battle together. We were not disappointed!
The day started with the guys getting up early to Golf while Lisa and I got the kids ready in their BYU stuff and headed into Downtown Columbus to walk along the Riverwalk, take pictures and do some cardboard box sledding. The guys met up with us after their round. We played a little longer along the River Walk and then headed home for a fun afternoon of preparing food and playing games!

GAME TIME
Better get a picture before the game in case things don’t turn out for us….
FINALLY, it was game time. Our Cougs gave us a scare and Lisa and I feared that our thus far perfect weekend may be ruined. Thankfully our prayers were answered :-) and the Cougs came out on top!
Watching the game was a blast! Chris, Adam, Lisa, Adam, Spencer, Ryan, Annie, Katie, Matthew, Avery and I all watched the whole thing together. Some of the other kids would come in and out to see what we were yelling about. It was hilarious for Lisa and I to watch Adam and Chris. They are STILL so much the same when it comes to their BYU Cougars. They know every player, their position, their height, weight, strengths, weaknesses etc. At one point when it wasn’t looking too good for us, they both couldn’t sit down any more and needed a moment to calm down. Without speaking to each other, they both stood up and walked out of the room, each in a different direction to try to compose themselves. Lisa and I were dying. Too funny that after living apart and not watching very many BYU games together over the past 12 1/2 years, these two still are so much the same when it comes to the BYU Football team.
The game headed into overtime. We were all on pins and needles until our wonderful Eddie George headed into the end zone after a UTE missed tackle. We knew it was over! We knew we had won! We all jumped up screaming and cheering, hugging and laughing, SOOOOO happy that our perfect weekend together was still perfect! Seriously, to any of you who have husbands who are DIE HARD BYU fans, you can understand how our weekend would have been tainted had the COUGARS lost to the UTES!! But alas, it was only made more perfect by an exciting, nail biting COUGAR Victory!!!! We ROSE AND SHOUTED for the occasion!
