3D Baby

To start off, I need to thank my world of READERS for ALL of your FABULOUS comments regarding my last post. I had faith that you were all there and to see that faith turn into pure knowledge gave my heart such a boost. I think its even beating a little stronger just knowing that I do have friends who read my blog! THANK YOU! I also need to mention that during my "pregnancy rant" adventure I have learned that I too, am not that great of a commenter. I have learned that "he who is without sin, cast the first stone, or at least cast that first one at yourself" Translation: I promise that forever more, I will comment more on all of your blogs too!!

Now for the 3D baby part:

My doctor, as I've mentioned before, is awesome! So much so that when I went in for my first prenatal visit with him, he wrote out on a prescription pad "complimentary 3D ultrasound" and stuffed it into my little packet of treats! I didn't realize the significance of that until a few weeks later when I was scheduling all of my prenatal visits and the scheduler asked if was going to have a 3D ultrasound at 28 weeks. As she asked the question I remembered the prescription paper that said "complimentary" on it and replied to her "Yes, why not!". Two weeks ago I was 28 weeks and off I went for my ultrasound. Now I need to share with you my deep feelings of "creeped out" that I had the first time I saw a 3D ultrasound picture of a baby inside the womb. It was when I was pregnant with Logan and my dr's office was just starting to offer the service! I thought the babies in the sample photos looked like little aliens and was somewhat disturbed by them. But, when it was my turn to have the pics taken of my baby, I thought, For free?? Why not! Plus, we can double check that its going to be a girl!

To be honest, I wasn't as disturbed or creeped out seeing the 3D pics as I thought I would be. It was actually really fun and I was wishing I could have stayed longer to get even better shots of the baby! As we were hoping, she is still a girl and from what we can see on the pics, she looks like she belongs to us with her chubby little cheeks! BUSTED!!!!!

See the title of this post? "BUSTED"?? Well people (at least the majority of you) that means you! Yes! YOU! You see, I spend hours each time I post, in an effort to capture the fun memories I have with my family and friends in my life. I pick only the best pictures (just kidding :-) and type the stories in the best way I can, despite of my lack of editorial genious, so I can capture what really happened, and recreate the memory for myself and those who were there. It's always a struggle because I also want to CREATE it for those who weren't there. Even if the reader can catch a small glimpse of the day, or event or emotion, I feel I've accomplished something. Before I hit "PUBLISH", I read, and re-read everything. Some, I admit, lack the pizazz I wish they had, while others, in my opinion, are brilliant works of writing :-) (Like the "Blog Stalker vs. Blog Hopper" post from last March, or the "Holding Hands" post from this past January). Still, once that "PUBLISH" button has been hit, I'm out there, for all to read and COMMENT ON!!!! And this, my fine readers, is where the "BUSTED" part comes in!!!! The other day I posted two entries. Not my best, but a quick update of what's been happening in my life. After just a few days, I've been wondering why I went public again. I seem to be getting less comments now than when I was private. "Hmmmmmm" I thought to myself, "I guess no one is reading my blog....maybe going private made them forget about me, and now that I'm public, they don't care...maybe the "Pizazz lacking" entries bored them all away....hmmmmm, what could it be?" In my confusion as to why the lack of readers/comments, I remembered my blog tracker. "This will give me the answers I seek", I thought. And so it did! Yes people, IT DID!!!! And now I know WHO looked at my blog, WHEN they looked at it and most importantly, who DID NOT leave a comment! On Tuesday I had 75 hits! SEVENTY FIVE!!! And look at my comments, what is there now 2? 3? Talk about a heart break!! 2 or 3 comments off of SEVENTY FIVE HITS! I have to say, "Charleyyy, That weally hooorts". (click here to understand that if you are confused) I could name the "non comment leaving" readers and list you ALL, but for now, I won't :-). I understand that there are reasons for not commenting like "nothing to say", "no time", "just getting a quick update", "not interested in the post at ALL" but come on people, those excuses only last so long! I know because I use them too. I'm guilty of not always commenting on your blogs, but I try to, at least every few entries. But right now my wounded ego can't handle excuses for much longer! So, even though I know who you are, I will forgive you, and hope that soon, VERY soon, my comment #'s will rise, and I'll know that you are out there. Even if you just comment once every 3 or 4 posts, or even if your comment simply says "I was here", I'll accept that! I'll just be happy to know you are there! So for the sake of a hormonal, crazy, 7 month (and counting) pregnant lady, who has to defend her blog to her doubting husband ("you have no comments, no one is reading your blog") PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT!! :-) (Do I sound desparate? Well I am!!! Does admitting that your desparate, really make you desparate? Hmmmm, a post for another day :-)

This post is totally out of order, but a few weeks ago, my girlfriends threw me a fabulous baby shower. I felt kind of silly having it so early but my mom was in town and with everyone's crazy summer plans it was the best time to have it! My friends spoiled me with the cutest baby clothes, nursery decor and more. Thank you to everyone who planned such a special night for me and our new little baby girl! I truely do have the BESTEST FRIENDS ON THE PLANET!!

Girls Trip 09

FIVE years ago, a few of my girlfriends and I decided to go on a "Girls Trip" to New York City. We had such a fabulous time that we decided we wanted to make it an ANNUAL tradition and choose different places to go. So far we've gone to NYC, ARIZONA, ST. GEORGE and SO.CALIFORNIA. This year we decided to go to BYU WOMEN'S CONFERENCE. We usually take our trip in June but with Women's Conference being in May, we moved it up. With the earlier date a few of the girls couldn't be there. We missed them a ton and can't wait for them to join us next year. LOCATION: TBA. Anyway, we had a fabulous weekend as we went to different classes during the day, ate lots of yummy food, compared notes about the things we learned in our classes and hung out at Erin's parents Mountain Home.

Though I'm opposed to having pictures taken of me while I'm pregnant, I had to give in and take a few because I want to be sure I always document our Girls Trips. Here are a few!

The night we got there, Mindy picked us all up from the airport and surprised us with a pack of DC and a DELICIOUS cake! It was to DIE for and we ate it every night when we got home from our activities. We didn't even bother to get plates. Just ate strait from the box! (I think I'm having a craving just writing about this)

Being on Campus put those of us who are BYU Alums into a state of walking down memory lane. It is so weird to go back 12 years after graduating and see that though a few things have changed, Campus still looks, smells and feels the same!

Mindy was dying for some DC so we immediately headed over to the gas station across the street from Campus to find her one with caffiene in it. I jumped out to buy it and she said she wanted the biggest one they had. I've never seen such a HUGE cup! It was hilarious! (for the record, Mindy wasn't the only one who ordered up a DC :-)

Tam and I are the real ones, Yvette was the imposter with a sweater stuffed up her shirt and Erin, who is as tiny as can be, felt super bloated from all the donuts, hot dogs, brownies and cake we had eaten. Saturday Morning, Erin had to leave early to catch her flight home as she had less than 2 days to unpack, repack and jet off to ITALY with her hubby. I had her take me back into the valley to Julie's house as she was taking care of Logan for me while I was at Women's Conference. Logan and Brady had a blast together and Mom, Julie and I spent Saturday together touring mom's beautiful new Utah house, going to lunch and laughing ourselves silly playing Rummi Cube. Mom and Ju, all I have to say is:

"BOOM BOOM!"

PS- A HUGE shout out to my awesome neighbors the Woogs and the Whittiers for taking my other 3 kids and Lucy. Adam had GFG Golf Weekend the same weekend and we didn't realize it until it was too late. We had to turn to our friends for help and they were fabulous! The Woogs had Annie and Lucy, and the Whittiers had Garett and Spencer. Couldn't have done it without you! Thanks a TON!!

Our Little Artist!

A few weeks ago Garett came home from school with a note saying that an art project he'd done been selected for the County School District art show. I had no idea what it was all about but thought it was cool so I signed the permission form for his art to be displayed. A few days later I got a call from the school art teacher telling me that Garett's art had won an award and been selected for another show. Of course this peaked my interest and I wanted to know what exactly he had created. She said it was a mask of Harry Potter and that out of 42 schools only three 1st graders projects had been selected for the next show and Garett's was one of them.

That night we all headed to the mall, where the art was displayed, to see exactly what Garett had done! We learned that this art show is quite a big deal. It was packed as people wondered around looking at all the art. It was fun to see G's creation and fuss over what a great artist he is! Not sure when the next show is but can't wait to go to that one and fuss over our little artist again!

(apparently winning an award means you he gets a cash prize but we don't know how much that will be yet! Pretty Cool!)
