HERE WE GO ROCKIES HERE WE GO (clap clap)

THE ROCKIES ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES AND ADAM AND I WERE AT THERE WHEN THEY SWEPT THE D-BACKS! GOOOOO ROCKIES!

When we walked into the stadium, they were passing out white Colorado Rockies towels. Everyone would swing them above their heads. It looked so cool!

Adam and I
Our new best friends! These are the people who were sitting next to us! They were SOOOOOO nice!

Last Monday Night Adam and I got to go to the Rockies Playoff game that put them into the World Series. Never in my life have I had so much fun watching a baseball game! Our seats were AWESOME, we were dressed in our Holiday(Adam's favorite player and the left fielder) and Tulowitzki (my favorite player and the short stop) shirts and we were screaming out lungs out! It was like going to the game with 50 000 of your best friends cause everyone was so nice, high fiving, chit chatting, etc. It's unbelievable that the Rocks not only made the playoffs but are going to the world series! We went to a game when Nic and Justin were here in September and even then didn't dream they'd be going to the World Series. This town is going crazy with excitement. My kids want to wear their Rockies jersey's, t shirts and hats every day of the week! We've liked the Rockies and gone to a few games a year since we moved here. I can't speak for everyone in my family but I know I am a Rockies fan forever now! I think the kids are too and Adam is pretty hooked too! (he claims he can like them since they are in the National League and he can like the Angel cause they are in the American League! It's a good thing the Rocks aren't playing the Angels in the World Series. Adam would be up a creek!)
We are so excited for the games to start on Wednesday! GO ROCKIES!!Matt Holliday! Adam's favorite player!
Troy Tulowitzki, my favorite player! He's AMAZING!

Adam with the winning Rockies in the background (cheesy, I know, but everyone in the place was doing the same thing! We HAD to document it! It was soooooooo fun!
Me with the National League Champs in the background!

PS-Adam just called to let me know he got tickets for us to go to the game next Monday night! I'm so excited! Just as long as we don't sweep the Sox I'll be at game 5!!! ;-)

Fun Fall Days

Last week Adam, the kids and I hung out at the playground after Annie's soccer game! It was a perfect Fall Day! We took some funny pictures and played on the swings and monkey bars! Logan and Garett were so excited because we had the "whole park just for us!" After the park we went and got Jamba Juice. While we were drinking our "juices" our Perfect Fall day turned into a wild and wet day as a big cold rain shower rolled in! That's Colorado living for ya!

THE SPIDER
Double swinging has always been a favorite of the kids since they were little! They call it the "Spider".

Sports and Stuff

ANNIE AND SOCCER

A Natural Athlete
dribbling in to score
Our little Michael Jordan (notice the tongue hanging out)
After scoring Annie and her teammate Taylor walked arm in arm up the field talking about the goal. Taylor scored off of Annie's assist! Too cute!

Since the soccer season ends next weekend I better get Annie's soccer pictures posted! This year we put her on a different team in hopes that her coach would be able to teach her a little about the game instead of be a "volunteer cheerleader" (long story). Anyway, it was a risk to make the switch but along with another girl from our old team, we changed and ended up with a great coach. She was a good player before the switch but has learned some great things this season that have helped to be even better. It is so fun to watch her play. She is actually REALLY good and scores at least one goal per game. One game this season she scored 5 goals. Her moves are getting better and better and she loves to fake one way and go the other. (I know I sound like I'm bragging but Adam's Grandpa says "If ya done it, it ain't braggin'" so there ya go :-).

SPENCER AND FOOTBALL

Yesterday was the last game of the season for Spencer's football team. Unfortunately they didn't make the playoffs, but they had a good season. Much better than last year where they didn't win a game. This year we were 4 and 7 so that was better for sure. We found out at the end of last season that because our team had gone undefeated the season before (Spencer wasn't playing yet), they had moved us up to a higher division. Along with the move, they also added another team to the league and half of our team went to that team because one of the coaches was going to be the head coach. So, when Spencer joined the team last year, half of the boys had played football and half hadn't, we had a new head coach, and we were playing in a higher division. Are you following? To summarize, last season we were way in over our heads with a team who had never played and in a division that was playing at a higher level. Thus explaining a bit about why we were so bad!

Before this season started our Head Coach requested that we be put back in the division we had been in originally. For whatever reason they didn't honor our request so we ended up back in the same division we were in last year. That said, our 4 and 7 record this year as opposed to not winning at all last season certainly shows the improvement we had this year!

One of our obstacles to the division we play in is size. Our poor offensive and defensive line players are outweighed by 20 to 40lbs. (except for one kid on our who weighs 154 lbs and is 9 years old). Anyway, with our last game being yesterday, our boys wanted to win SOOOOO bad! They were so excited for the game. The team we played matched up to us size wise better than any team we've played this season and we ended up winning 43 to 0. Every kid on our team played their little heart out and did everything right. I felt sorry for the other team but it was so good for our guys to build their confidence and prove to themselves that they are a good team and size really does make a difference.

The season went by so quickly, none of us can believe it's over! Spencer loved it more this year than last year. He played outside linebacker and full back most of the time but would play whatever position the coach needed him to play. In a couple of games the coach would pull Spencer aside for a few minutes, explain something to him, send him into the game at a different position than he normally plays and Spencer would do exactly what he was told to do. The coach told me yesterday that Spencer just understands the game and he can always count on him to do exactly what he needs him to do! He's improved a ton this year and by the end of the season was playing both sides of the ball almost every play of the game. We're so proud of him!

I LOVE watching him out there before the play begins. He's always looking around making sure he knows where everyone is and what his surroundings are then you hear his deep little voice yell "Watch the Ball"
This picture is evidence of the size difference of our team to others. Our kid is in the white and is just a bit shorter than Spencer!
This is Spencer waiting for the snap.

Spencer was one of the team captains! I love this picture of him walking out for the coin toss! Notice how long our last name is and that the O is missing! Ha ha ha!
Spencer's Best Friend Brady. He is sooooo fast!
A time out!

Catching Up....

This afternoon I sat down at the computer to check email and catch up on my blog and reading everyone else's. Now, 2 hours later, I still haven't started my blogs update and am only half way through reading all the blogs on my links list. It's taking forever, I'm being a terrible mother and have a back ache that won't quit! It might take me some time to catch up on everything but eventually I'll get there....

Birthday Week at Our House!

One thing that made coming home from Hawaii a bit easier was that when we got home it was our family "Birthday Week". Logan, Adam and I all had birthdays last week and we had a fun time celebrating them! Logan is now 3 years old and I can't believe my baby is so grown up! He is sooooooo much fun right now and has the cutest personality! He is always saying the funniest things and constantly has us all laughing. Just a few of his cute sayings:

While Adam was getting ready for work at 6:00 in the morning the other day he woke up and ran into see him. I was half asleep but heard him ask Adam in a loud whisper "Daddy, the sun is coming up! It's morning time already!"

While we were watching Conference on Sunday Morning he asked (again in a loud whisper) "Daddy, is Jesus there?" He was so good and actually sat and watched all two hours of the Sunday Morning Session! I think he really thought Jesus was going to be there and he in no way wanted to miss out on that!

Sunday afternoon the kids and I made a Birthday Card for Adam and I asked each of them to tell me a few reasons they love Daddy. Each of them came up with the cutest reasons. Spencer said he loved him "because he teaches us good lessons during FHE". One of Annie's was "because he holds the Priesthood and will be able to baptize me". One of Garett's was "I love daddy because of what he is: A daddy" and last but not least, one of Logan's was "I love him because he's handsome, (short pause) and I'm handsome!"

Anyway, Logan really is so much fun. If I had to describe him I would say that he is the only 3 year old I know who LOVES life and lives each day to the fullest. I love laying in bed in the morning, hearing his door open, then shut and then hear his little feet sprinting down the hall to come to our room. He always stops right as he walks in and has the look on his face that says "Tada, here I am, let the day begin!" and he goes until he falls asleep each night! He is such a HUGE blessing to our family and adds so much spunk and personality to each day!! Happy Birthday little man!! We Love You!

Hawaii Trip

Richard and Mahalia and Adam and I standing on the Lanai'i of our Hotel Room! GORGEOUS VIEW!!

The last week of September Adam and I were able to take our Annual Trip to Hawaii with his Company. We really are lucky that he works for such an amazing company! They certainly know how to treat us! Each year, for the past 7 years they have taken all the Managers of the company and their wives/guests on an all expense paid trip to Hawaii! We always have soooo much fun golfing, hanging out at the pool, walking on the beach, eating yummy food and catching up with other managers and their wives! All the managers have meeting for the first 2 days we're there while the wives get to play! It's hard for Adam to complain though! He'd certainly rather have meetings in Hawaii than somewhere cold or dry or boring! Anyway, it's interesting to me that even though we only see the other couples once a year, we are all very close friends! Its a wonderful group of people and although we miss our kids, we enjoy every minute of being there!

This year we headed out a few days early with Richard and Mahalia Bird (Adam's Sales Manager here in Denver as well as family friend) and spent a few days on Maui! They'd never been to Hawaii before so it was fun to be with them for their first trip! They loved it! After spending 3 days on Maui we headed over to Lanai, the little Island off of Maui that has a small little town and only 2 hotels! We stayed at the Four Seasons at Manele Bay! It was our first time staying somewhere other than the Four Seasons on the Big Island! We love the Big Island but actually ended up really liking Lanai as well!

One of the days in Maui we rented Jet Ski's for an hour and zipped around! It was so fun and we even saw dolphins--up close!!

These ladies are my "Golf Gals"-Me, Sherrie, Eileen and Cheryl! Every year a group of us like to go golfing while the guys are in meetings! We always have a great time together! This year one of the girls that golfs with us wasn't able to be in Hawaii as she is undergoing treatment for Cancer! We missed her terribly and wish her all the best! Love and Prayers to you Ellie!!

Hat Girls!! Jan(left) bought her black hat early in the week! By mid week I couldn't stand looking at how cute her hat was and decided I needed one for myself! After buying it I felt like a huge copy cat until my friend Allie (center) decided she needed one to and toodled off to the gift shop to pick up one for herself! Of course we had to get a picture of us!

AnnDee, Me and Elizabeth. AnnDee is a really neat girl who has twin little girls! Elizabeth is engaged to one of the managers and is an absolute doll! So much fun and as you can see sooooo cute!

My Golf Team (two years running - shhhhhh, don't tell) This year I was a team captain for the Golf Tournament and got to help put the teams together! My team from last year was sooooo much fun and we all wanted to be back together again! With a bit of luck we were able to be together again! This year was even more fun! We laughed ourselves silly and although we REALLY wanted to win, we missed 1st place by 2 strokes and ended up in 3rd place! We're convinced that by next year we'd for sure get first place, but I was told that next year we won't be able to be together again! Oh darn!! Even though we didn't win, we sure looked cute though! :-)

I'm always sad when the trip is over cause it means a whole 'nother year to wait till I can go back! I know, poor me, right? But I lovey my Hawaii!! :-)

Nicole and Justin Visit

Justin waiting for the kids to get home from school the day he arrived!
On the train heading to Mile High Invesco Stadium
Nic and Justin at the Broncos game!
After playing Laser Tag at the "Fun Center"
Rockies Game (GO ROCKIES!!)

After 5 years of living in Colorado, Nicole FINALLY came to visit! Yipee!! Wahoo!! Hooray!!! I've been bugging Nicole for over a year now about how she has never come to visit us and we always go visit them. Everyone else (except Ben and Marin) had come to visit us but it never worked out for her to come! Well this year, for Justin's 9 year birthday trip (he turned 9 LAST October) he wanted to come here to see Spencer!! With his busy sports schedule Labor Day weekend was the weekend they were able to come for! It worked out perfectly since Adam was in Utah for the GUILT FREE GOLF Classic with my Dad, Ryan, TJ, Steve and other family and friends!

On Thursday morning I picked them up from the airport and headed off to meet Spencer for lunch at school. It was fun for Spence to show Justin around and introduce him to all his friends! That night Nicole took Spencer, Annie and Justin down to a pre season Broncos game. We went to a really cool "Fun Center" on Friday and then went to Spencer's football game on Saturday. Sunday we went to church and hung out and Adam came home. On Monday we all went to the Rockies game! It was a ton of fun and definately action packed! I don' t think Nicole will want to see the inside of a city transit train again for a very very long time as she used that for much of the transportation around the city with the older kids while I stayed home with the little ones!

Thanks for coming out Nic! It was sooooo much fun having you guys here! Don't let another 5 years go by before coming back again!!!
