8 Weeks Old

I snapped a few pictures of Avery this morning and wanted to get them posted asap! Have I mentioned how fast she is growing! She is a super smiley little thing and soooo content just to be! Enjoy the pics!

Super CUTE baby!

Fast Friends - Lucy is 8 months old and Avery is 8 Weeks old! These two will be lifelong pals!

Last night I found Annie and Avery snuggling on the couch! You can tell Annie was fake sleeping but Avery was out cold and wrapped her little arm around Annie's neck all by herself! Such cute Sisters!

Look What I Found

This morning as I was downloading pictures off of my camera I found this:

This is Logan and his "buddy" Trevor. Trev and Logan are in the same preschool class and the other day Trevor came over after school to play. I had no idea they had snatched my camera and taken a self portrait! They did a great job too!

Future Missionaries

Every Sunday Morning Logan and G-man BEG me to let them wear their suits to church. I haven't let them for almost the entire summer because they get hot and end up giving me the suit coats and I have to carry them around church all day. This Sunday I relented and they couldn't have been happier. They certainly look handsome don't they!

I'd say we have 2 future missionaries on our hands!

Labour Day Weekend

Our great friends, Richard and Mahalia, came to visit for Labour Day! We had a BLAST with them! There's was lots of hanging out, football, baseball, food and laughter! They are always SOOOO much fun to be with!

Friday afternoon they arrived and we packed up the kids and all headed downtown to the Rockies game that night. We even took Avery with us and she did great! The Rockies even won so it made it all the better.

Baby Girl's First Rockies Game!
GO Rockies!
We LOVE Richard! What a clown!
All us Rockies Fans!

Saturday dawned and the guys went Golfing while Mahalia and I slept in and hung out with the kids! When the guys got home we were off to watch Spencer's season opener for football. They won 44-0! A definite change from our previous seasons! It looks like we might have a team this year! Yeah!
The Banner I made before all the boys ran through it before the game started!
The boys running through the banner!
Captains please??? Spencer is #42 and is one of the team Captains this year!

Saturday night was the BYU vs Oklahoma game. When we got home from Spencer's game, we all changed into our BYU stuff and watched with anticipation to see how the Cougs would do! We couldn't believe how great they looked, especially the defense, and were all ecstatic that they pulled out the win! Of course the guys were already talking BCS. Crazy boys! It's only the first game! Let's not get ahead of ourselves!

Sunday was church (in our NEW building, YIPEE!!) and then a lazy afternoon just hanging around, laughing and having fun!

Monday the guys woke up and headed to the golf course while Mahalia and I took the kids (except Spencer who was golfing too) to see Harry Potter. Everyone except Logan and I had seen it but were excited to see it again! I LOVED it!

When we got home we had a yummy barbque and then had to take the Birds to the airport! It was a quick weekend but such a fun one! Thanks for coming guys! We miss you!

6 Weeks Old

My baby girl is already 6 weeks old! (well actually, as I type this she is 8 weeks old but I'm posting about her being 6 weeks since I'm so far behind on my blogging)-Anywho, for me 6 weeks old is the time that babies change from looking like a newborn to a regular baby. As grateful as I am that she is sleeping so well, and getting onto a schedule, there is a sadness for me because I'll never have a "newborn" again. She is growing and changing soooo quickly that I just wish the time would stop and she could stay this little forever!
CHUBBY cheeks!
Self protrait of me and Avery. She's not looking at the camera but you get a good idea of how big she's getting!

Logan FINALLY started Preschool

The kids started school at the beginning of August so poor Logan was bored to tears everyday! He was less than thrilled that he had to hang out with me all day long, every day. So when it was time for him to start preschool he was ready to burst!

This year Logan is in a PreK+ class. Don't really know what the + means but basically its for kids who miss the kindergarden cut off by a few months. Logan misses it by only a few days so he definitely needed more than 2 or 3 days a week of preschool. He goes M-Th mornings and couldn't be happier. He's meeting lots of new friends and has 2 fabulous teachers, one of whom taught Annie when she was only 2 1/2. Where does the time go?

Here he is all ready to go:

Little Buddies

Logan is so lucky to have such a good little Buddy! Soren and him are only 3 weeks apart and LOVE to play together. They call eachother "Sore" and "Loge". It's so cute to here them greet eachother:

"Hey Sore"
"Hey Loge"

A few weeks ago Soren came over for a play day and we jumped in the car and headed to Baja Fresh to meet Adam for lunch. A lady came over to us and asked if they were brothers. Uuuuummmmm, do you see anything that looks the same???? Blonde hair to Brown hair, Blue eyes to Brown eyes, Pale white skin to Olive tan skin....hmmmm lady, wonder what eyes you are using to look at them with. After she left Logan declared that "It's because of our buzz cuts, that makes us look like brothers".

EWWWW!!!

Look what Spencer and his friends showed up with at my front door a few weeks ago after Scouts! EWWWWWWW!!!!

Of course I freaked out because I HATE snakes! I don't mind a mouse here and there and have even dealt with a rat before (didn't deal too well with it but dealt none the less), but snakes...not a chance! YUCK!!!!!!
This is a bull snake. And this is a small one! They can be HUGE so they thought this one was a baby! They are not poisonous but they do bite! Spencer had it around his neck and I flipped! He and his friends were totally laughing at me as I was frantically expressing (notice I wasn't screaming it :-) to them my concern that it could bite them. Thankfully it didn't!
EWWWW!!!!

Avery Meets Papa!

At the end of August Papa was finally able to come and meet little Avery. Usually he is here when our babies are born but due to his work and travel schedule he couldn't come until now. Of course it was love at first sight for both of them.
The weekend was FULL of snuggle time for Papa and all the kids but Avery got priority!
Poor little baby girl had the worst case of baby acne I've ever seen! Didn't bother her a bit, she still nestled right in for good snuggly naps!
Papa and his girls! What could be more Heavenly?

Thanks for your visit Papa! Avery now knows how blessed she is to have you for her Papa! We LOVE you!!!

Give Hope

Please check out the new button on my side bar!

There is a family that used to be in our ward. They have two children who BOTH are in need of Liver and Kidney transplants. I don't know them very well as our ward split soon after they moved in, but I've been kept up to date on their story for 2 years. Both kids are the cutest little things!

As of today, the 2 year old daughter, Claire, was activated on the transplant list and so now, the family waits...waits for the call. With that waiting comes a lot of ups and downs. One of the downs is the stress and worry of how they are possibly going to pay for the surgery, not once but twice.

In an effort to help the family with the financial burden, a fundraising blog has been created. ANY amount will help. Please check out their story HERE and then click on the button on the sidebar to help in any way you can! I'll try to keep you updated on their progress!

"But I'm 'COMFTABOW'"

When Adam was growing up, his little brother, Daniel, used to lay across his chest and snuggle. When Adam would tell Dan to climb off, Daniel would say, in his little 2 or 3 year old voice "But I'm comftabow!"

A love that story! And I love that Adam's love of snuggling hasn't left him! And I love that he's passed that love of snuggling on down to the kids! What could be better than a snuggle?

He still loves the chest snuggles and one of his favorite things to do with our babies is fall asleep on the couch, whilst watching some sort of sporting event, with the baby snuggled on his chest!

Last week Adam was the lucky recipient of Avery's "comftabow" snuggles! He was in Heaven!
