BRAVE BOY

This summer we all went to Granddad's office to get our teeth cleaned. All but Garett came out cavity free. Unfortunately G-man made up for the rest of us coming out with 8, yep, 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 cavities. As you can imagine, I, being the daughter of a dentist, was completely in shock. I was embarassed and devastated as my dad asked me "What is this kid eating?". My answer "The same stuff as everyone else". So it turns out he inherited his Auntie Nicole and Uncle Daniel's teeth and has softer enamel that sugar likes to eat through. When we got home I took him to the Pediatric dentist. She was totally cool and as I explained my devastation she reassured me that even her kids had cavities.
Garett was sooooo brave as he had his cavities filled. He had 4 on the bottom and 4 on the top so it took 2 appointments to get them all filled. The first appointment they did his bottom teeth. He didn't like being frozen after and I kept reminding him not to bite his lip! The next time wasn't as bad. He was such a trooper!!
Of course I had to get a shot of him with Dr. Amber! As I explained that I'm a "blogger" she was totally cool and came out from the back so I could take her picture.
Hopefully after these fillings we won't have to do it again. We are now NAZI about flossing, brushing and fluoride rinsing all the kids teeth! We all definately have healthier, cleaner teeth! ( not that they were unhealthy and dirty before....we're just taking even better care of them now! :-)
