(Tamara, our friend Jenni and I went on a 25 mile bike ride last Saturday morning to knock out some of our biking miles! It was a BEAUTIFUL morning and made me feel soooooo lucky to live in CO)After what seemed like an eternity on the stationary bike, enough time in the pool to have me singing "Just keep swimming" (from "Finding Nemo) to my children as I tucked them in at night and endless minutes on the road and treadmill, I have FINISHED my Ironman Challenge!! 112 miles on the bike, 26.2 miles running, and 169 lengths (we thought it was 155 lengths until we realized the pool we're swimming in was 25 YARDS, not METERS--seriously, this country needs to convert to metric!) I completed my goal within the 2 weeks we were given to do it in! As crazy as it sounds, it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
A HUGE, HUMONGOUS shout out to TAMARA for her awesome encouragement, motivation and determination. I don't think I know anyone who has "The Eye of the Tiger" more than she does! You rock girl and I can't wait for our next challenge!!
To anyone interested in doing this challenge, GO FOR IT!!! It's a great way to get in shape, feel good about yourself and have an amazing sense of accomplishment. Let me know if you want to give it a try and I'll send you the training schedule with all the distances! You CAN do it!!

i'm too fat. Maybe when I get in shape. What's with your ad on the side????
I am amazed and a wee bit jealous. Send the schedule to me and I just may try it, although I have a cruiser bike instead of a mountain bike. Will that work too, do you think?
You guys are awesome!
Way to Go Girl!!! Congratulations!
Good for you!! That is a huge feat! I wish I would have completed it. I will have to soon. I'm excited to train for the 1/2 marathon in March. I told myself that I wouldn't ever run a race that far, but I think I'm going to do it.
YOU GO GIRLS!!!!!!! I love a good athletic challenge! I totally want the training schedule- and I'm also curious about the boot camp you have going on in your front yard?! Do tell!! I'm ready to wrestle up some ladies and have fun! Kudo's to you my friend!
Way to go! Email me the info. I may just give it a whirl!!!
You. are. AMAZING!!
I have too many extra curves goin' on on me... ;) but you definitely have inspired me to push harder. WTG!
Yep, you rock!!
Good job! I just have to say I loved working out with Tam when I went to Cliff. She was such a motivator. I swear she never gets tired. She just keeps going, and going, and going...
Clearly it's been a while since I've checked blogs. I am sooo happy we did the challenge together. You were a great strength to me and there were several workouts that you got me through!!! What's next for us?
